Sakshi Khanna, late actor Vinod Khanna's youngest son has been in the news for many months now. The aspiring actor has assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Bajirao Mastani and there has been a buzz that he has been launched by the director. A source says, "Bhansali indeed had a story for Sakshi, but it looks like that is not working out. So it might not happen. But it is said that the filmmaker has offered another film to him under his banner and Sakshi might take that up instead."

Reportedly, since Bhansali was busy wrapping Padmavati with Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, he said to have put this film on hold. There were rumours that Sakshi might be launched by Karan Johar along with Sara Ali Khan, however there has been no confirmation on that as yet. Sakshi is Vinod's son from his second wife, Kavita.
