Express Features

Actor turned producer Arfi Lamba, whose debut production film LOEV received a lot of accolades, has now featured in a German film. The actor, who is remembered for his outstanding performance in movies like Slumdog Millionaire, Prague and Fugly, plays lead role in a German film that has been released in three countries -- Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The film has opened a new market for Arfi as an actor, since he learnt to speak German, and with time, thoroughly mastered it, which was appreciated by the makers. The film has got a huge response and he is now on his way to reading for three lead roles.

On the other hand, his production house Bombay Berlin Film Productions has not taken a back seat either. Arfi has chosen a full-fledged Indie production house that's majorly gaining prominence in the international films circuit.

Arfi's production debut LOEV got a thumps up from audiences worldwide. The actor/ producer is extremely glad with the responses. On why he choose LOEV as his debut, this is what he had to say, "When I heard the script of LOEV, it was like no other love story I had come across. Though between men, it transcended the gender bias in talking about unrequited love. Everybody felt it was impossible to make, but my gut told me that this film would be better that what was on paper. And today, I stand vindicated."

As a producer, Arfi's company's next project deals with the mental health situation in India and it's a documentary from an award winning director Rohan Sabharwal. There are two Bollywood films lined up too, but he says he will announce those when the right time comes along.
