PC Shekhar, Chetan to make a British period drama

Director is scripting the movie and the actor is getting into the skin of the lead character

A Sharadhaa

Director PC Shekhar, after Raaga that featured Mithra and Bhama, is getting ready with his next and we hear it is going to be another period drama. The director is tight-lipped about this, but we hear that he will be exploring a subject set in the British era.

Shekhar is now scripting it and will soon start with the movie's pre-production work. The film will  be made with a huge budget and an official announcement on the details about the producer and the technicians will be made before the movie goes on floors, which will be in September, says our source.

The director has chosen Chetan to play the lead for this period drama. The actor, who has done Aa Dinagalu in the same genre, has worked only in a few films after that, but his pick of films including Birugali and Mynaa deal with varied subjects. His recently released movie is yet another period drama Noorondu Nenapu

The actor has completed Mahesh Babu's Athiratha, which is now in the post-production stage. "Chetan, who is known to be choosy about his scripts and projects, has been discussing this movie with the director. Meanwhile, the actor has been trying to get into the skin of the character and this should take him a couple of months," says our source.  If everything falls in place, this will be yet another fresh combination of actor and director.
