Reports suggest that veteran actor Karthik has been roped in for a crucial role in the Suriya-starrer Thaana Serndha Koottam directed by Vignesh Shivn. Recent developments suggest that he’s playing a CBI officer. However, official confirmation is awaited. Also, we learn that he’s yet to join the sets to shoot his portions. Karthik was last part of Anegan, which had Dhanush in the lead. Thaana Serndha Koottam is said to be about a “sweet father-son relationship”, according to a source.

Touted to be an action comedy, and reportedly based on Akshay Kumar’s Special 26, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Ramya Krishnan, Nandha, and RJ Balaji. It also marks the comeback of veteran comedian Senthil after many years. The makers are likely to release the first look on Suriya’s birthday (July 23).  Anirudh is composing the music, and the album will have eight songs.
