Recently during an interaction, when Abhishek Bachchan was asked about Gulab Jamun he had remarked, "The film is not directed by Anurag Kashyap. It will feature a new director and will be produced by Anurag Kashyap. We can’t announce anything because I feel the producer is the right person when it comes to announcing a film."

Apart from Gulab Jamun, Sanak, Lefty, Erase, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Sahir Ludhianvi are the other films in Amitabh Bachchan's kitty.  Earlier this year, he was supposed to collaborate with Irrfan Khan for Ronnie Screwala's next but apparently the film has been put on hold for various reasons. It is also speculated that the actor might not be a part of the film now as his dates have been blocked with other commitments.
