There had been reports circulating online that the official trailer of Vishwaroopam 2 would be unveiled on June 23. But Kamal Haasan took to Twitter and informed his fans about the latest developments:

According to sources, the actor-director has begun the post-production work of the sequel and is planning to release it later this year.

A while ago, Kamal had announced that his production house Raaj Kamal Films International has taken over the project. Previously, the project was reeling under financial crisis as its producer, Aascar Ravichandran, couldn't clear the remuneration of the cast and crew. Vishwaroopam 2, which has music by Ghibran, also stars Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah, and Shekhar Kapur in pivotal roles. We hear the film will simultaneously release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
