Express Features

The upcoming film 96, which had its pooja on Monday, will have its lead Vijay Sethupathi playing the role of a schoolboy for a brief portion. The title of the film refers to the year of a school batch and a part of the story unfolds in class 12. 96, directed by cinematographer turned director Prem Kumar, will star the actor alongside Trisha for the first time. Speculation has it that the actress will play a fellow student in the batch, and that the film will be about a love that blossoms at a young age.

As we had reported earlier, Vijay Sethupathi will play the role of a wildlife photographer and will be sporting a new look in the film. Apart from the two leads, the film will also star Kaali Venkat and Vinodhini. Bankrolled by S Nandhagopal of Madras Enterprises, 96  has acclaimed Malayalam composer Govind Menon on board for the music.
