It is known that Shivarajkumar was offered the role of Karna in Darshan's Kurukshetra. However, the buzz now is that the actor has humbly turned down the offer. Reportedly, dates for his other two films Tagaru and The Villain, which are currently being made, clash with this retelling of the epic.

Other than the date clash, the actor also wasn’t comfortable with gaining weight for the role of Karna.

Admitting that he is going to miss being a part of an epic drama, Shivanna said, “I was approached by the makers of Kurukshetra for the role of Karna, which defintiely needs good amount of time and effort from my end. But I don’t think I can commit to that time for this prestigious project. Moreover, putting on weight will be difficult for me at this moment.”

Shivanna also declared that there was no other reasons for not taking up the project. “I definitely look for an opportunity to work with Darshan in the future,” he added.

The makers have roped in Arjun Sarja, who will be featured in Arjuna’s role, and are now looking for an actor who can play Karna. The film, directed by Naganna is all set to be launched on August 6.
