One Heart to release this month

Express Features

Academy award winner AR Rahman is releasing a musical concert film worldwide on August 25 in Tamil, Hindi and English languages simultaneously. Titled One Heart, the film features sixteen of his most popular songs, besides in-depth interviews and unseen personal clips, according to sources.

A statement from Rahman reads, "He shares his thoughts on performing on stage, how he came to choose the band that toured with him in 14 cities in America, and the humility he feels when armies of his fans shower love on him. So far people would have seen AR Rahman sing with his band, but here for the first time, they will witness what happens behind the scenes -- like how he composes a track, how he shares it with his orchestra, on what basis he selects the singers and so on."

AR Rahman says, "Hollywood cinema has a whole genre of films based on concerts, unlike here, and Michael Jackson's This is it was one among them. We had a premiere of One Heart recently in Canada, and the response was overwhelming."

The proceeds from the film will go to Rahman's One Heart foundation to help old musicians and their families.
