Word has it that Vetrimaaran may next join hands with Rajinikanth, with some rumours suggesting that the filmmaker has already met the Superstar and narrated the story. We are told that Rajini liked it and has apparently given his acceptance to the project. Earlier, it was said that Kaala would be Rajinikanth’s last and final project as an actor, and that he would be moving into politics after it was done.

The actor is currently shooting for Pa Ranjith’s gangster drama, while Vetrimaaran and Dhanush have been working on Vada Chennai, which is said to be a trilogy. According to reports, the last schedule of the latter film's shooting will begin in Chennai in the second week of August. The production of the film was put on hold for a while as Vetrimaaran was busy promoting Visaranai.
