Shirish’s next is Pista

S Subhakeerthana

Shirish, who’s currently busy with Raja Ranguski, a murder-mystery, has signed his next, a rural outing titled Pista. Shirish tells CE, “My first two films were urban scripts, and I thought I should experiment with village-based roles. That’s when I heard the script of Ramesh Bharathi, who was the editor of Metro. I really liked it. I play the role of a local guy who works in a sandhai. I’ll be undergoing a make-over.”

Team Pista will begin shooting its first schedule from August in and around Kumbakonam and Karaikudi. “It’s going to be a laugh riot. Sathish, Yogi Babu, Sentrayan and Swaminathan have all been roped in to play supporting roles. We’re looking to complete the project by September 20,” he adds.

Pista will have music by Dharan. “It’s his 25th film. He has already completed four songs,” Shirish tells us. While Mrudula Murali of Ayal Njanalla fame plays Shirish’s love interest, Arundhati Nair is also on board.
