Dhanush, who's awaiting the release of VIP 2, is on a sequel signing spree. The actor is gearing up to play a local don in Maari 2, the sequel to the 2015 action film. The film's director Balaji Mohan shared a photo of a bound script on Twitter.

A source close to the star says he is busy with multiple films in his kitty. "His Hollywood project is on the verge of completion, and after that he will resume Gautham Menon's Enai Nokki Paayum Thota. Post this, he'll start working on Maari 2 from September," says the source. Dhanush will also produce the film. It's not yet clear if the cast and crew from the original film will be retained for the sequel.

Kajal Aggarwal played the female lead in the original which had Anirudh's music.
