Imsai Arasan to be back

Vadivelu's Imsai Arasan 23-am Pulikecei, a period film that spoke about contemporary issues, was a run-away hit in 2006. The film's sequel has been on the cards for a while, with Shankar planning to produce it along with Lyca Productions. The production company's creative head Raju Mahalingam recently confirmed that work on the film is underway. On Sunday, which marked the film's 11th year, Shankar shared a tweet about the project: 


With the sequel confirmed, it's not clear yet on whether director Chimbu Deven, who directed the original, will join the team. The original was Vadivelu's debut as a lead actor and director Shankar's third production venture.
