Parvatii part of Maheshinte Prathikaram remake

Express Features

We'd told you earlier that filmmaker Priyadarshan would collaborate next with Udhayanidhi Stalin for a Tamil film to be produced by Moonshot Entertainment. While we hear it's a "thriller with commercial elements," the latest is that Parvatii Nair has joined the film.

Said to be an adaptation of Malayalam film, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, it has Namitha Pramod playing one of the female leads. She was earlier cast to play the role essayed by Aparna Balamurali in the original. It looks like Parvatii will play Anusree's character in the remake of this Fahadh Faasil-starrer, which got released last year.

"Her role won't be same as that of the Malayalam version, and has been tweaked according to the sensibilities of the Tamil audience. Samuthirakani and MS Bhaskar will also play significant roles," says a source.

Currently, Priyadarshan is working on the script and the principal shooting is expected to commence in three months. Reports suggest that he's also working on the Hindi remake of his own Malayalam hit, Oppam. His long-pending Sila Samayangalil is also due for release. Udhayanidhi, meanwhile, has Podhuvaga En Manasu Thangam and Ippadai Vellum in the pipeline.
