Vishal's Irumbu Thirai gets new release date

The film's release date has been pushed back from Pongal to Republic Day

A third look poster from Vishal's upcoming film, Irumbu Thirai was unveiled yesterday evening carrying a new release date. Initially, announced to be a Pongal release, the film is now slated to come out on Republic Day.

Directed by debutant PS Mithran under the Vishal Film Factory banner, Irumbu Thirai, being dubbed in Telugu as Abhimanyudu, has Samantha Akkineni as the heroine while Arjun plays the antagonist. Music for the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Latest reports suggest the film is nearing completion with only a few portions remaining to be shot. With the new release date, Irumbu Thirai will now face-off at the box office with Jayam Ravi's space thriller, Tik Tik Tik and Anushka Shetty's Bhaagamathie.
