Contrary to initial reports, the biopic on Late Bollywood actor Meena Kumari will not feature Vidya Balan or Madhuri Dixit, but Sunny Leone. The biopic will reportedly feature serious themes like alcoholism and tragedy

The film's director, Karan Razdan, recently during a media interaction revealed he had approached both Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit, but nothing materialised beyond those initial discussions. He then revealed that Sunny Leone had heard about the project's development, and invited him over for a discussion.

Although he admitted he felt she wasn't the ideal choice for the role, he does state she was enthusiastic about portraying the acclaimed actor, who went on to be called 'The Tragedy Queen'. He further added that she is quite courageous to want to do this role.
