The makers of Bharath Ane Nenu have denied rumors that Mahesh Babu's role has similarities to Rana Daggubati's character in the 2010 film, Leader.

In Leader, Rana played the son of the CM, who returns to India to fulfill his father's final request of serving the people by becoming the Chief Minister. In the process, he faces various obstacles and this serves as the remainder of the film's plot.

For a while now, there have been reports stating Bharath Ane Nenu too has a similar premise, which the makers have now gone on to deny. They state that their film doesn't resemble Leader in any way and this will be known when it releases on April 27, 2018.

The makers clarified that although Mahesh Babu plays the son of the Chief Minister in the film and later goes on to become the CM, the overall plot is completely different from Leader.

Directed by Koratala Siva under the DVV Entertainments banner, Bharath Ane Nenu has Mahesh Babu and Kiara Advani playing the leads with Sarath Kumar and Prakash Raj in vital roles.
