Phailwan begins with few good songs 

Director S Krishna and music director Arjun Janya are already at the recording studio, and the film is set to go on floors from January 15

While Sudeep is busy with Prem’s The Villain, S Krishna has quietly started work on the actor’s next Kannada film Phailwan.

The film has Sudeep playing a boxer in it, and there has been much anticipation among moviegoers from the time the project was announced. His fans have been waiting for every update, and the latest is that the filmmakers have started work on it with a simple launch event.

The launch was attended by Sudeep, director Krishna and composer Arjun Janya, and the latter two have already started working on its music recording and song composition. Our source tells us, “Phailwan will have five to six songs.” 

With Sudeep likely to complete The Villain’s shoot by January 10, Phailwan’s team is likely to start work on January 15 on the auspicious day of Sankranti. Meanwhile, Krishna is busy with its pre-production work and is in the process of finalising the cast.

The film will see Krishna and Sudeep working together for the second time after Hebbuli. Phailwan, made under RRR Motion Pictures, is produced by Swapna Krishna and has cinematography by Karunakar.
