Suseenthiran announced that he's planning to release Sundeep Kishan-starrer Nenjil Thunivirunthal for Diwali. And ever since he did so, he's been receiving negative comments from Vijay fans on social media as it looks like he wants to challenge Mersal. The filmmaker issued a statement clarifying that he's not challenging the Vijay-starrer in any way, and also added that his film Pandiya Naadu got released alongside Arrambam, and both were declared hits. 

Earlier titled Aram Seidhu Pazhagu, Nenjil Thunivirunthal also has Vikranth, Mehreen Pirzada, Harish Uthaman and Soori in important roles. The film is titled C/O Surya in Telugu. Touted to be an off-beat action film, we hear it touches upon a social issue just like all of Suseenthiran's previous films.
