The 2012 comedy film Kalakalappu will apparently get a sequel. Sources say that director Sundar C, who is currently busy with the pre-production works of Sangamithra, is also working on the sequel, as the actress who'll play the titular role in the former still hasn't been confirmed. 

While the original film starred Vemal, Shiva, Anjali and Oviya, it's not clear yet whether the same cast will be retained for the sequel. Considering the popularity of Oviya post her exit from Bigg Boss Tamil, it's highly likely that the film will take off soon. Meanwhile, Shiva is also a part of another sequel - Tamizh Padam 2.0. Sources also say that Sri Thenandal Films who is producing Sangamithra will bankroll the Kalakalappu sequel as well.
