Dulquer Salmaan, who's shooting for the Savitri biopic Mahanati, in which he plays Gemini Ganesan, will make his debut in Bollywood alongside Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar in Ronnie Screwvala's untitled production venture. Said to be a light-hearted comedy, we hear the film revolves around Dulquer and Irrfan's adventure on a road trip. Reports suggest that the shoot will begin by the end of this month in Kerala. The film marks the directorial debut of Akarsh Khurana, who has co-written the script with Hussain Dalal. Abhishek Bachchan was said to have been approached for Dulquer's role initially, but had to opt out as the dates clashed with those of another film.

Some time ago, it was widely speculated that Bejoy Nambiar may launch Dulquer in Bollywood. Both have collaborated on the Malayalam-Tamil bilingual, Solo, which also marks Bejoy's directorial debut in Malayalam cinema. Solo is yet to release.
