Kammatipaadam wins Jaycey Foundation award

Malayalam film Kammatipaadam was selected as best movie for Jaycey Foundation's annual Film-TV-Naadaka-Sahithya award constituted in memory of film director Jaycey. Biju won the best director award for the movie Kaadu Pookkunna Neram. Vinayakan bagged best actor award for the movie. Rima Kalligal was nominated for the best female actor award for her performance in Kaadu Pookkunna Neram.

Meanwhile, Chemban Vinod and Sajitha Madathil shared the award for best co-actors. Najeem Arshad was selected as the best singer and Alka Ajith as  best female singer. Rajeev Alumkangal bagged the award for best lyrist, while Vinu Thomas was chosen as best music director. Best scriptwriter award was given to Manoj Ram Singh.

In the TV serial category, Renjan Rajan and Monisha were selected as best actor and female actor. Eeran Nilavu won the award for best TV serial. Madhuranombarapattu of Pala Communication was selected as best drama.

In theatre category, Rajesh won the award for best actor and July Binu won best female actor award. A jury led by cartoonist Yesudas and seven others selected the winners. The awards will be presented to the winners at Town Hall, Ernakulam, at 6:30 pm on August 18. The event will be open to the public without any ticket charges.
