Actor Vicky Kaushal has started filming for Meghna Gulzar's Raazi, which will also feature Alia Bhatt. Vicky, who will essay the role of an army officer, joined the team after wrapping up his work in the Sanjay Dutt biopic, on Friday.

Based on the book Calling Sehmat, Raazi is a real life adaptation of a Kashmiri girl's story. The protagonist is married to an army officer, and the story is set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Alia and Vicky have been doing their prep for the role and have also done a few workshops together to get the right dialect and character.

"I'm extremely excited for this journey. It's a great team coming together on an amazing story. Fingers crossed," Vicky said.

Produced by Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures, Raazi will be shot in Punjab and Kashmir.
