Though it was Nyla Usha who played the female lead in the Jayasurya-starrer Punyalan Agarbattis, the sequel Punyalan Private Limited will have Shruthi Ramachandran in the lead.

Director Ranjith Sankar confirmed this to CE. Though there were speculations initially that Nyla will reprise her role, the director has confirmed it that she won’t be a part of the project. “In the sequel, Nyla’s character is not there. Instead it will be Shruthi who plays the lady lead. But, Punyalan Private Limited is basically a hero-oriented movie,” he adds.

The movie, which went on the floors in Thrissur, will have Jayasurya reprising the role of Joy Thakkolkaran. The first part of the movie, a satire, had Jaysurya  playing the struggling entrepreneur.
