The Covid-induced lockdown has given a break to actor Megha Shetty, who had been juggling between the shooting for her popular serial, Jothe Jotheyalli, and her debut film, Tribble Riding. The actor, who has not been shooting since April 19, hopes to be back soon to entertain the audience.

“The situation is such that everyone is bound to stay at home because it is a matter of health. Of course, I miss being on the sets, which has always been my second home. However, right now, we need to follow the rules,” she says, adding that the lockdown has helped her get some good sleep. “Exercise and doing reels, watching web series, cooking, and home chores have kept me occupied.” 

Tribble Riding, she says, is a mix of comedy, action, and emotions, and is a total family entertainer. As an actor with expertise in the small screen, what was it like to work on a film? “Working in a serial like Jothe Jotheyalli has helped me perform well in my debut film. But, it is a very different experience working on a film. In serials, we shoot one episode consisting of 10 to 12 scenes. In cinema, it is just the opposite. I shot one or two scenes per day, or sometimes it was just limited to expression. So there was ample time and scope to improvise my performance,” says Megha. “Fortunately, I got to work with a great team — including Ganesh and director Mahesh Gowda.”

While Megha isn't particular about the genre of films she is part of, she does enjoy playing cute and bubbly characters. “I am glad that offers are pouring in, and I am in talks for a couple of other projects. However, right now I am not in a position to sign my next because it will disturb the dates of my serial. I will take up something only after I complete Tribble Riding,” says Megha, who still has one song left to shoot for the film.
