'Radhika Pandit is my inspiration'

Adhvithi Shetty, along with her twin sister, Ashvithi, shot to fame with their supporting roles in Yash and Radhika Pandit’s Mr and Mrs Ramachari. Since then Adhvithi has played a number of supporting roles, and even worked in a teleserial before bagging a heroine’s role in Kaarmoda Saridu.

Coincidentally, Kaarmoda Saridu is part of the lyrics from a song from Mr and Mrs Ramachari. About the title, which means 'a passing black cloud', Adhvithi says, “It is something that everyone faces in life, and the film revolves around overcoming such problems. It is not just about love, but also runs on other emotions. It has comic elements, heartwarming songs, and suspense, with a message at the end of it.” The actor adds that the content-oriented film follows a non-linear script.

'Radhika Pandit is my inspiration'

While conversing with Adhvithi, there’s something about the actor that reminds you of Radhika Pandit. Having worked with Radhika in Mr and Mrs Ramachari, and being good friends ever since, Adhvithi feels the Kaddipudi actor is her 'soul sister'. “To be honest, when we meet, we usually don’t talk about films. Before I did Mr and Mrs Ramachari, I did not know either her or Yash. But the two really motivated both me and my sister while shooting. And since then, I look up to her. Radhika is my inspiration.”

Advithi, a HR professional-turned-model-turned-actor, never imagined her latest career path. “It was Mr and Mrs Ramachari that changed our lives. From then on, people have showered us with love, which has helped us take ourselves forward.”

While she anxiously awaits the verdict on Kaarmoda Saridu this week, the actor also has an interesting line-up of films in hand, including Fan, 1888, and Sadguna Sampanna Madhava 100 percent, all of which are in various stages of production. “My short film, Mahaan Hutatma, did the rounds at festivals. At this moment I believe that if you work hard, things will come to you. I never expected to come thus far. So, it is a big deal for me,” she says.
