My producers felt I didn't have the potential to act: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar was a part of a lot of action films during the initial part of his career, which he attributes to his producers and directors thinking that he won't be able to perform in their films.

"Till today I have completed around 135-140 films, and initially, I did only action films as my producers and directors felt that I lacked the potential to act," says Akshay.

"Slowly, I started doing comedy and romantic films, followed by socially relevant films," he adds.

The actor won the National Award under the Best Actor category in 2017 for his performances in Rustom and Airlift.

Akshay next will be seen in Shankar's 2.0, Anurag Singh's Kesari, Farhad Samji's Housefull 4, Raj Mehta's Good News and Jagan Shakti's Mission Mangal.
