Three women and a robbery

K Sudha

Itly, starring Saranya, Kovai Sarala and the late Kalpana, which hits the screens this Friday has no relevance to everyone’s favourite dish, clarifies director RK Vidhyadaran. “The film is all about the heroics of three women in a bid to loot a bank to meet their needs. Their names are Inba, Twinkle and Lilly, and hence the title.”

Though the film is primarily a comedy, the director says the emotional content will also be high. “Each of the three lead characters has a reason for wanting the money. There also a strong reasoning for why only Saranya can handle the gun.” The film has been in production for a long while, and Kalpana passed away before it was completed. “We had to use graphic effects in the climactic stages for Kalpana’s portions,” he says, adding that the three actors bonded well and this is reflected on screen.

With a line up that includes Vennira Adai Moorthy, Imman Annachi, and Chitra Lakshmanan, the director, who appears in a cameo a la Hitchcock, promises that the film will be a treat to viewers.
