Sumalatha is my favourite on-screen mom: Hariprriya

CE Features

Hariprriya is wrapping up D/o of Parthavamma, a film that is close to her heart. The J Shankar directorial has her playing the role of an investigative officer, and she shares screen space with senior actor Sumalatha, who plays her onscreen mother.

“I have tried a different look in the film and with the character. The film has shaped up well,” she says about the film that will soon get into the post-production stage.

Making a special mention of Sumalatha, Hariprriya tells us, “I felt very comfortable working with her. We played a mother-daughter duo on screen and shared a great bond through the shoot. When I first read the script, I thought Sumalatha would best fit the role. Thankfully, she also related to the character and agreed to be part of the project and we are now done with the shoot.”

The actor goes on to say that many of those who visited the sets complimented the duo on their rapport. “Sumalatha’s attitude and the way she carries herself has inspired me a great deal. She is my most favourite on-screen mom,” she says.

The film also features Prabhu Mundkur and Suraj Gowda.
