Bichhugathii is more or less my debut: Rajavardan

A Sharadhaa

Actor Rajavardan dedicated a year for his role as Baramanna Nayaka the 15th-century Palegara, who existed two generations before Madakari Nayaka in his upcoming film, Bichhugathii, Chapter 1 - Dalavayi Dange, based on the novel written BL Venu. The Hari Santhosh-directorial venture was launched today by Darshan. “Bichhugathii is more or less like my debut,” says three-film-year old Rajavardan. Despite the actor working on three films, only the multi-starrer Noorondu Nenapu had a theatrical release. There is no information about his other two films, FLY and Ira.

“It was around the same time last year that Om Sai Krishna Productions approached me and handed over the book of BL Venu. After three days, I decided to go ahead with the project,” Rajavardan reveals.

The actor underwent various training sessions like horse riding and kalaripayattu, for the historical character. “I had to put on a lot of weight for the character. All this took a year, and we are finally on floors,” he says. Rajavardan, who is a good friend of Hari Santhosh, says he is happy to work with the director. “Hari was supposed to direct my first film, but it didn’t work out. I’m glad are now coming together for a big film.”

He also adds that Darshan, who launched the film's first shot, is a huge support to the project. “I discussed the character with him, and he gave me some tips. Darshan also mentioned that a historical film is a wonderful opportunity that has come early in my career and I should consider myself lucky.”
