Praveen Bhushan's Mundina Badalavane talks about the joy of watching films at single screen theatres, which has been fading with the advent of multiplexes.

The lyricist-turned-director, who also plays the lead in the film, says, “It used to be a usual routine among college students to bunk classes and watch films in the front rows of theatres. They usually choose single screen theatres because of lower ticket prices. With the rise of multiplexes, the joyous experience of viewing cinema has been fading among college goers. My film will bring back those nostalgic memories.”

In spite of the film being about watching films at single screen theatres, the filmmaker could not release it in any theatre on Kempegowda Road, Bengaluru. “I couldn’t afford to pay the amount quoted by those theatres. So I opted to release it at a few multiplexes this week.”

Initially, the film was titled Popcorn, but later it was changed to Mundina Badalavane as he thought the title was apt for the story. Produced by Panibhushan under his banner Sirap Creations, the film has music by Karthik Venkatesh and cinematography by Koteshwar. Featuring Sangeetha as the female lead, the film also stars Malashri, Lakshman Gowda, Kavya Gowda, Nandakumar and Chakravathy in important roles.
