Ravi Varma brings in villains from across industries for Rustum

CE Features

Rustum is stuntmaster Ravi Varma’s directorial debut, and he is leaving no stone unturned to ensure it is extra special. Having roped in Shivarajkumar for the lead, Varma is making sure the rest of the cast is just as good. While Shraddha Srinath will be paired opposite the ‘Century star’ and Mayuri plays the role of his sister, the director has another surprise for the audience in the form of multiple antagonists. And interestingly, he has brought in diverse actors from across south India to play the villains. So far, Ravi Varma has brought on board popular south Indian actor Harish Uttaman, director-turned-actor J Mahendran and debutant Arjun Gowda, to face off against Shivarajkumar in Rustum

Harish, known for his villainous roles in films such as Gouravam and Pandiya Naadu, has worked in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu industries. He will now be making his Kannada debut with Rustum. Veteran Tamil director Mahendran, who is also popular for his antagonist role in Theri, too, will be making his Kannada debut with the film. The third antagonist will be played by Arjun Gowda, who is a newcomer from Karnataka.

The director apparently has more surprises in store, which he plans to reveal at the film's launch on Dr Rajkumar’s birth anniversary, April 24.

Rustum has music by Anoop Seelin and cinematography by Mahendra Simha.
