SRK didn't need to be convinced to act in Tubelight: Salman

Salman Khan says that Shah Rukh Khan instantly agreed to do the cameo in Tubelight before he could even try to persuade him. “When Kabir (director Kabir Khan) narrated the subject to me, he said, ‘We should get Shah Rukh for this role’. So, when I called and told him that there was a small role in Tubelight which I would like him to do, even before I could begin selling him the role, he said he’d do it.”

When asked if the film, based on the 1962 India-China war, will have a positive impact on people, Kabir says, “War and problems are always created by politics. There can never be hostility between people. This is something we explored in Bajrangi Bhaijaan and now, in Tubelight.”

On his working experience with Matin Rey Tangu, the child artiste in the film, Salman said, “Matin is a born star of Itanagar. I have never come across such a funny child.”

The film is slated to release on June 23.
