The angry young gangster in Angamali Diaries is all excited. In the city shooting for Lal Jose’s Velipadinte Pushthakam, Sarath Kumar aka Appani Ravi, can’t help gushing about his scenes along Mohanlal. "It’s a great learning experience for any actor. I will cherish these days with him forever," says Sarath.

Velipadinte Pusthakam, scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam, has the superstar playing Prof Idikkula, the newly-appointed vice principal of a famous college. While Sarath plays a key role in the film, Anna Reshma Rajan, another Angamali Diaries star, plays the female lead opposite Mohanlal. "I have some theatre background and has observed many actors over the years. But working with Mohanlal is an incredible experience, something I can’t express in words. He knows about all aspects of filmmaking and his words are so full of insight. I think working in a single Mohanlal film will teach you more than working in some ten, twenty films," he says.

The actor, who wooed the audience with his stunning villain act in Angamali Daiaries, says his role in Velipadinte Pusthakam is totally different. "After Angamali I didn’t want to repeat myself and thankfully all the roles that came my way were different. My character in Velipadinte Pusthakam doesn’t bear any resemblance to Appani Ravi," he says about the film which also stars Anoop Menon, Salim Kumar, Priyanka Nair and Shajon.

Sarath, who is also part of Pokkiri Simon and Pipin Chuvattile Pranayam, adds he will be appearing in unexpected avatars in all three films. You have seen me as a villian, now wait for the comedian," he winds up.
