Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday has announced its arrival in spectacular fashion, with the film's first full trailer becoming one of the biggest trailer launches in cinema history. Released on July 20, the preview amassed an astounding 503 million views worldwide within its first 24 hours, making it Disney's second most-watched trailer ever.

The feat places Avengers: Doomsday second on the all-time list of biggest trailer debuts, behind only Sony's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, whose trailer generated 719 million views in a day. It also overtakes the 365 million views recorded by the Deadpool & Wolverine Super Bowl teaser, previously Disney's biggest trailer launch.

Avengers: Doomsday runtime revealed: Marvel film to run longer than Infinity War

The overwhelming response comes months after Marvel began teasing the film with a series of short promotional videos released late last year. The full trailer arrived just days before Marvel Studios' expected presence at San Diego Comic-Con, where Avengers: Doomsday is anticipated to be one of the studio's biggest attractions.

The trailer offers a glimpse of an epic showdown, bringing together the Avengers and the X-Men against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. The ensemble includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Patrick Stewart, Letitia Wright and Channing Tatum, among several others. Scheduled to hit theatres on December 18, Avengers: Doomsday marks the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first large-scale Avengers crossover since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

The trailer launch was accompanied by the opening of advance ticket sales, and the film has already generated around USD 16.5 million in pre-sales within its first day. According to studio sources, premium-format screenings for December 17 and 18 have sold rapidly, prompting exhibitors to add more shows during the Christmas holiday period.

Avengers: Doomsday, the 39th film in the MCU, will arrive in cinemas a few months after Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The two superhero spectacles are widely expected to rank among the year's biggest theatrical releases.
