Recreating a bromance

Express Features

Biju Menon is one actor who creates a sizzling chemistry with all his co-actors. Well, now, it is the turn of Neeraj Madhav to recreate the bromance on screen with Biju. After Maduranaranga (2015), Neeraj and Biju will get together once again for not one, but two movies.

The pair will, first, be seen sharing screen space in Lava Kusha, that will hit the screens during Onam. The duo also has Rosapoo lined up. Quiz Neeraj about their combo, and he says it will be an extension of their off-screen friendship. "I share a very warm vibe with Biju. There is a certain comfort level we share post our first outing together in Maduranaranga. While scripting Lava Kusha too, I was particular that Biju should do an important role. I wrote the movie keeping him in mind," says Neeraj.

Lava Kusha has Neeraj and Aju Varghese playing Lava and Kusha, respectively. "I can't reveal anything about Biju's character except to say that it is very pivotal to the story. In Lava Kusha, we aren't exactly friends, but a boss and subordinate," he says.

Neeraj says his debut scripting venture is an out-and-out entertainer. "Lava Kusha is not a realistic venture. It has a comic book feel. The characterisation is slightly exaggerated. It is a spy comedy," says the actor. He adds that he invested a lot of time and energy for the project. "This was my first script and I wanted it to be a good one. It is a screenplay-oriented flick, thereby demanding a lot of attention. Then, there were multiple locations. So, it kept me occupied," he says. Lava Kusha will hit the screens during Onam.

The actor says Biju has always shown an interest in acting alongside him. "I am really looking forward to Rosapoo," he adds. Neeraj is also playing the lead in Paippinchuvattile Pranayam, the shoot of which has been wrapped up. "Since it is my solo hero project, I wanted to share the responsibility," he says about that film.
