Given his meteoric rise, from a child artist to becoming a lead actor, it would not be an exaggeration to call him one of the shining young superstars of Telugu cinema.

On the occasion of his 37th birthday, we bring you the little-known trivia about the Young Tiger, as he is fondly called by his fans.

Jr NTR was born as Tarak Ram Nandamuri, but it was his grandfather and legendary actor late NT Rama Rao who has changed the name after him.

Born in one of the first families of Telugu cinema, NTR was trained in Kuchipudi and is reckoned as one of best dancing sensations of Tollywood.

In 1996, he starred as a child artist in Ramayanam, which won the National Film Award for Best Children's Film for that year.

NTR made his debut as a lead actor with Ninnu Choodalani (2001) at 17.

Baahubali-fame SS Rajamouli made his directorial debut with NTR's first commercial hit Student No.1 (2001) and followed it up with the industry hit, Simhadri (2003)

The duo delivered a hat-trick blockbuster with Yamadonga (2007).

NTR and Rajamouli are currently working in their fourth film RRR.

Andhrawala (2004), which marks NTR's first collaboration with director Puri Jagannadh, has had a massive audio release in the presence of 10 lakh fans in the Mecca of Nandamuri fans, Nimmakuru.

The Indian railways ran 10 services from several parts of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh to ferry Nandamuri fans to the venue.

NTR also shares an outstanding success streak with director VV Vinayak and together, they have delivered super hits like Adhurs (2010), Samba (2004) and Aadi (2002)

Aadi catapulted the duo to a huge fame because of its vast critical appreciation.

The actor has a biggest fan club in Japan and upon their request, his film Baadshah (2013) was dubbed into Japanese and was also premiered at the Osaka Asian Film Festival 2014.

NTR and Trivikram have delivered a commercial success with Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018). The duo are set to team up for yet another action entertainer soon.

Tarak hosted the first season of Bigg Boss (Telugu) on Star Maa from July 16-September 24, 2017 and his small screen debut has fetched record TRPs for the popular reality show.

NTR featured twice in Forbes India celebrity list in 2012 and 2016.

Like his late grandfather, all his cars are registered with the number 9999. In fact, 9 is his favourite number and his Twitter handle '@tarak9999' accentuates this belief.

The actor is also known for his playback singing skills. He has recorded five Telugu songs Olammi Thikka Regindha, 1,2,3 Nenoka Kantri, Chary, Raakasi Raakasi, Follow Follow and a Kannada song, Geleya
