1. Oomai Vizhigal It would be a sin to leave this classic 1986 thriller out of the list, as the film had six contemporary heroes playing the main characters.
2. Suyamvaram Well, this multi-starrer is something that can't be recreated by Tamil cinema again. The screen was filled with every single fan favourites and we only wished the film never ended.
3. Kandukondain Kandukondain This Rajiv Menon film redefined triangular love stories in Tamil. And oh boy, it was a pleasure to see the 70MM filled with extremely good-looking people.
4. Devan Despite, having a couple of interesting sequences, this lesser-known multi-starrer failed to satisfy the audience as a whole. Watch the film for the brilliant court scene of Karthik.
5. Ayutha Ezhuthu Fire. Land. Water. What if these three elements of the nature took human forms and faced off each other? This imagination of Mani Ratnam resulted in an striking political thriller.
6. Nanban The unlikely trio almost successfully recreated the magic of the original, 3 Idiots and took the audience by surprise.
7. Iraivi The Karthik Subbaraj directorial about women and feminism, broke a lot of cliches and boldly addressed the casual misogyny and saviour complex in the society.
8. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam This Mani Ratnam film, which got the audience intrigued just by the cast announcement, set a new benchmark for multi-starrers by giving equal lime light for all its leads
9. Vikram Vedha The modern day retelling of Vikram and Vedhal, received unanimous love from the audience and every single frame and dialogue of the film became a talking point during its release.
10. Petta This revenge drama which was lauded by the fans as a celebration of the Super Star Rajinikanth and his 'Rajinism', failed to satisfy the audience who were misled by the exceptional cast
