With Bigil hitting 200 crores, here are the Tamil movies that have earlier made it to the prestigious 200-crore club

The 2nd instalment in the Enthiran franchise, 2.0 (2018), a standalone sequel to Enthiran, featuring Rajinikanth, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, crossed 520 crore in its opening weekend.

With a overall worldwide gross of 800 crores, 2.0 is is the second highest-grossing film in India (after Baahubali 2) and is the fifth highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.

Thalapathy Vijay's 2nd film with Atlee, Mersal, did a BO collection of 260 crores worldwide. Released on Diwali day, 2017, Mersal hit some roadblocks initially owing to its dialogues on GST.

Mersal entered the 200 crore club in 12 days.

Starring superstar Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte, the 2016-movie Kabali is next on the list. Directed by Pa.Ranjith, the film garnered approximately 297 crores, 92 crores in India and 105 crores abroad

Kabali had the highest worldwide opening day for a South Indian film at that time, surpassing the record set by Baahubali: The Beginning by earning 87.5 crores on the first day.

Viswasam, Ajith Kumar's 2019 Pongal release, was a blockbuster, which crossed the 200 crore mark during its overall run.

Rajinikanth-starrer Enthiran (2010) was the first Tamil film to enter the 200 crore club. Directed by Shankar, the sci-fi movie earned a total of 296 crores, 219 crores in India and 77 crores abroad.

Released on the Diwali day of 2018, Vijay-starrer Sarkar, directed by AR Murugadoss crossed the 200-crore mark in 8 days.

Sarkar's overall gross was 260 crores worldwide.

Karthik Subbaraj's Petta Petta was released on 600 screens in Tamil Nadu for Pongal 2019 with tough competition from Viswasam. On its opening day, the film grossed 36 crores worldwide.

Petta entered the 200 crore club in its 23rd day.

2013's most controversial thriller Vishwaroopam collected 220 crores worldwide. Besides acting in the film, Kamal Haasan also wrote and directed the movie.

The Tamil Nadu government initially banned the film for 15 days at the time of release but later when it was released, the hype made sure that it had a terrific run.

Shankar's yet another film, I, that hit the screens for Pongal 2015, hit the jackpot. Starring Vikram and Amy Jackson, the film garnered 234 crores worldwide. Vikram lost 25 kgs for his character.

Even if there is no separate data available for the Tamil versions of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, S.S. Rajamouli’s epic movies are included in the Tamil movie box office

The two Baahubali movies, in total, collected 2000+ crores worldwide. First one was released in 2015 and the next one in 2017.

Similarly, no no separate data available for the Tamil version of Prabhas' Saaho (2019). The film made 424 crores worldwide.

Vijay's sports drama, Bigil, directed by Atlee, seems to be on a juggernaut run as the film has managed to cross 200 crores in 5 days.
