Darbar, starring Superstar Rajinikanth as the Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai, is one of the most anticipated films of the year.

The shooting, which happened for the past few months in Mumbai and Jaipur, was recently wrapped up.

Nayanthara, who has previously worked with Rajini in Chandramukhi and Kuselan, plays the female lead in Rajinikanth's 167th film.

Nivetha Thomas and Yogi Babu are also a part of Darbar.

Darbar is directed by AR Muragadoss, who last made Vijay's Sarkar. It's the filmmaker's first association with the Superstar.

Rajini plays a cop in the film after a gap of 25 years.

Several Bollywood actors are also part cast of Darbar, including Pradeep Kabra, Prateik Babbar, Dalip Tahil, and Jatin Sarna.

Here, Yograj Singh, father of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who's also part of Darbar, is seen with the film's cinematographer, Santhosh Sivan.

Darbar also has has music by Anirudh Ravichander, and editing by Sreekar Prasad.

Darbar is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

Darbar is scheduled for release on January 9, 2020.

Rajinikanth was last seen in Karthick Subbaraj’s Petta, which also starred Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Simran.
