Kuch Kuch Hota Hai marked Karan Johar’s directorial debut. The budding filmmaker was torn between two story ideas for his first feature, deciding to blend them into one film.

The rest were filmed inside Mumbai studios.The song Tum Paas Aaye was filmed at this white cottage overlooking the Buachaille Etive Mor in Scotland.Choreographer Farah Khan wasn’t kicked about Rani Mukerji’s dancing skills during rehearsals. However, the actor slayed her steps on the days of shoot, leaving everyone impressed.
