Thalapathy 64: All you need to know about Vijay's next after Bigil

Vijay, who's awaiting the release of his film with Atlee, Bigil, this Diwali, is all set to work on his next project, tentatively titled Thalapathy 64.

Thalapathy 64, which is said to be a genre-centric film, will be directed by Maanagaram fame Lokesh Kanagaraj. Lokesh is currently awaiting the release of his 2nd directorial, Kaithi, starring Karthi.

Reports suggest that Vijay will be seen playing a professor character with grey shades. However, there is no confirmation on this.

Malavika Mohanan, who gained worldwide recognition for playing the lead in director Majid Majidi's Indian drama film, Beyond the Clouds (2017). will be the heroine of Thalapathy 64.

Malavika made her Tamil debut this year with Rajinikanth's Petta, where she played Sasikumar's wife, Poonkodi.

In a casting coup of sorts, Vijay Sethupathi has been signed to play the antagonist in Thalapathy 64.

Vijay Sethupathi has earlier played the villain in films like Vikram Vedha and Rajinikanth's Petta.

Antony Varghese, who shot to fame with his performance in the critically-acclaimed Malayalam film, Angamaly Diaries, will be making his Tamil debut with Thalapathy 64.

Antony, who will next be seen in the festival-favourite, Jallikattu, is said to play a negative role in Thalapathy 64.

Shanthnu Bakkiyaraj, who was last seen in the 2017 film, Mupparimanam, will also be playing a supporting role in Thalapathy 64. Interestingly, Shanthnu is a self-confessed fan of Vijay.

YouTube stars from popular channels such as Parithabangal and Nakkalites, are also said to be part of Thalapathy 64.

Anirudh Ravichandar, who last worked with Vijay in Kaththi, will be composing the music of Thalapathy 64.

Thalapathy 64 will be shot by cinematographer Sathyan Sooriyan, who has worked in films like Yuddham Sei, Mugamoodi, Maya, Adanga Maru, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, and Kaithi.

Philomin Raj, who edited Lokesh's debut film, Maanagaram, will be handling the editing of Thalaoathy 64.

Satheesh Kumar, who was the art director of Joker, will be handling Thalapathy 64's production design.

Popular action-choreographer Stunt Silva will be handling the stunts in Thalapathy 64.

Thalapathy 64, produced by Xavier Britto, under his banner of XB productions, is scheduled for a summer 2020 release.
