When Chudidhar anindhu vandha sorgam met the suited suitor singing Senorita in Poovellam Kettuppar. Who knew this charming love story was the beginning of an even more charming love story off camera?
Caught in a vicious sibling rivalry between Suriya and Raghuvaran, Jyotika undergoes a roller-coaster of emotions in Uyirile Kalanthathu, as she pines for her love singing Uyire Uyire Azhaithathenna
As Jyotika whispered her Ondru Rendu aasaigal to Suriya in Kaakha Kaakha, and later said, 'I want to make love to you', they just became the quintessential Tamil Cinema couple of their generation
Was it a coincidence that Suriya's first dual role film also marked Jyotika's maiden attempt at the same? Perazhagan established more than just the chemistry of this star couple.
Maayavi, a lovely little film that didn't quite get its due, starred Jyotika as herself, and Suriya as Abase Balaiya, the one who kidnaps her. This movie also marked Jyotika's first attempt at dubbing
Suriya played a small cameo in June R, which marked Jyotika's 25th film in Tamil. In an intense tale of love and longing, Jyotika delivered a measured performance.
Sillunu Oru Kadhal released just three days before the wedding of Suriya and Jyotika. Imagine the hype. Imagine the pressure. SOK had romance oozing out of every scene, and what a soundtrack by ARR!
