Matt Dillon has been cast as the lead in Prime Video's upcoming series the Magnificent Seven. Dillon is an Oscar nominee, known for his role in Crash (2004) among other things.

Tim Kring is developing The Magnificent Seven and is also serving as a writer. Kring is serving as an executive producer with Dillon, Donald De Line, Lawrence Mirisch, and Bruce Kaufman. MGM+ Studios and MGM Television Studios are backing the series.

In the series Dillon is portraying Chris Adams, the leader of a group of gunslingers, who gang up to protect a group of innocent villagers from a landlord trying to steal their land.

On the casting, Michael Wright, global head of MGM+, said, "Matt Dillon brings extraordinary depth and gravitas to this iconic role. His ability to portray complex, morally conflicted characters makes him the perfect choice to lead our reimagining of The Magnificent Seven. This series honors the legacy of the original film while exploring timeless themes about courage, redemption, and standing up against oppression—and Matt's performance will be at the heart of that story."
