Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Dheena, Abdool Lee, and Master Henrik are also a part of the film’s cast apart from Darshan and Kaali Venkat. House Mates' narrative centres on newlyweds Karthik (Darshan) and Anu (Aarsha Chandini Baiju), who move into a flat and start to notice odd happenings that appear to be connected to a different family in a different historical period. What begins as a typical home scene swiftly transforms into a tense, paranormal riddle where fantasy, comedy, and emotional drama blend together to create an unexpected and exciting story.

An excerpt from CE’s review of the film reads, “The drama created by the dissonance between Karthik and Anu over whether their house is haunted is well executed. Big ups to the director for avoiding the showcase of apparitions and going for familiar scares that make us believe we are in for a paranormal ride.”

House Mates is backed by Sivakarthikeyan and S Vijayaprakash under the banner of SK Productions. The crew of House Mates consists of MS Sathish as the cinematographer, Nishar Sharef as the editor, and Dinesh handling stunts. SP Sakthivel served as a creative producer on House Mates with Kalai Arasu as the co-producer. Playsmith Studios and South Studios were also producers of the film.
