Simone Biles Rising trailer: The story behind the athlete's brave comeback to sports

Netflix unveiled the trailer for their upcoming documentary series based on the American gymnast, Simone Biles, on Wednesday. Directed by Katie Walsh the series is titled Simone Biles Rising and will have four episodes.

The trailer shows Biles withdrawing from the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics due to her deteriorating mental health. It also shows her being criticised for her decision. The docuseries promises to delve deeper into how she strongly made her comeback to the world of sports.

The official description of Simone Biles Rising reads, "Witness unprecedented access to the most powerful comeback in sports. Journey into the world of Simone as she grapples with vulnerability and self-doubt, redefining what it means to be a champion on her own terms."

Gotham Chopra, Ameeth Sankaran, Giselle Parets, and Janey Miller produce Simone Biles Rising with Religion of Sports (McGregor Forever) in association with the Olympics Channel.

Part 1 of Simone Biles Rising will premiere on July 17 ahead of the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
