Emma Stone's Poor Things will premiere on Prime Video on February 27. Poor Things is a whimsical story that mixes fairy tale elements, absurd imagery and a spruce of horror that mostly comes in the form of the movie’s allusion to Frankenstein. The film hit theatres on December 8.

The film, starring Emma Stone and directed by Greek helmer Yorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth, The Lobster), won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Poor Things is based on a novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray. Tony McNamara has adapted the book to the screen.

The official synopsis of the film read, "Poor Things is an incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter's protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she lacks, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.

Apart from Emma Stone, the film's cast includes Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley and Kathryn Hunter. Poor Things has been nominated in 11 categories for the Academy Awards, and has also won several other accolades.
