The teaser of Vijay Varma’s hijack-thriller series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack was released by the makers on Saturday. Created and written by Anubhav Sinha and Trishant Srivastava, and directed by Anubhav, the series features an all-star lineup including Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Vijay Varma, Arvind Swamy, Dia Mirza, Patralekhaa, Amrita Puri, Anupam Tripathi, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa.

The teaser introduces the character of Vijay, who plays a pilot on the IC 814 flight that got hijacked on December 24, 1999 as it embarked on its journey from Kathmandu to New Delhi. The six-episode series recounts the harrowing experience as terrorists hijacked the flight and a relentless team in India tries to understand the demands of the hijackers. Naseeruddin, Dia, Kumud seem to be playing bureaucrats trying to figure out a solution.

The series marks Anubhav's streaming debut and is produced by Sarita Patil (Matchbox Shots) and Sanjay Routray (Benaras Mediaworks). It will be released on Netflix on August 29.
