Netflix acquires Thandel’s post-theatrical streaming rights

The makers of Thandel have announced that streaming giant Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film for reportedly Rs 40 crore. The official announcement also states that this is the biggest streaming deal to date in actor Naga Chaitanya’s career. 

Starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, Thandel is a love story set in the Srikakulam coast. Naga Chaitanya plays a fisherman who gets capturedby the Pakistani army. Thandel is written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti, who has last helmed the Nikhil Siddhartha starrer Karthikeya 2. Thandel is presented by Geetha Arts and produced by Allu Aravind and Bunny Vas. Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer of the film, with cinematography by Shamdat and production design by Srinagendra Tangala. 

Netflix has recently announced its 2024 Telugu content slate which includes theatrical releases like Devara, NBK 109, Tillu Square, Gangs of Godavari and Buddy.
