Apple TV+ has renewed The Buccaneers for another season. The renewal comes with speed as the finale of the first season premiered only on December 13.

The eight-episode drama is inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton’s unfinished final novel of the same name. The series is created by Katherine Jakeways.

The Buccaneers revolves around a group of young American girls who break into the stiff culture of London in the 1870s, bringing a breath of fresh air, sidelining the age-old traditions.

The Buccaneers stars Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen and Mia Threapleton, among others. The series boasts an all-women team with Katherine Jakeways serving as the writer and Susanna White at the helm.

The series is produced for Apple TV+ by The Forge Entertainment.
